    Infragistics provides simple and efficient controls for multiple platforms including Angular, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and Windows Forms. Datagrid is one of the controls available on the Windows Forms that makes building data driven Windows applicatins easier. Datagrid is very easy to implement and it provides a very user friendly UI for developers to work with.

    The UltraGrid is one of the richest data controls available for WinForm. The control provides built-in functionality to sort, filter, group, and find records. In this tutorial, I demonstrated how to connect with a SQL Server database and load data in a UltraGrid. You also saw how to filter, group, and sort data.     We are currently an Infragistics NetAdvantage Select customer and have been for a few years. Their controls are ok but not what I would call great but the time invested in learning them to date is the main reason we stick with them. We use both ASP.NET and Winnform controls.
    So, their controls are great and have a great look but I think the main quality of DevExpress is their support. You can ask a question on the support page and you will receive a answer within one day, maybe two days if the question is complex.
    The reasons I make this statement is their documentation in my opinion was bad. When I spend money on a RAD type control suite, it’s to make my work easier and faster to production. I found in some cases it was easier to just figure out how to make built-in controls do what you want versus trying to figure out the problems I was having with their controls.
    Their samples are kind of like Microsoft samples used to be. They are fluff based for Tech sales to show at a seminar “how easy something is to setup” but in real world if you used the techniques and monitored viewstate and traffic their examples generated, you’d be less than impressed.
    I didn’t have an account to submit support tickets but I had 4 over the course of a month submitted through the account holder and to my knowledge didn’t get an answer back on any of them. (That could have been a break down with the person I had to go through but I doubt it.)
    When it comes to Telerik’s, Rad controls for Ajax, very seldom I can’t figure out what I need to do by either looking at the sample Visual Studio sample web solution that get’s installed combined with their documentation.
    Like Francis, I haven’t made the move from infragistics to devexpress, I started with devexpress. I can speak to the learning curve. Depending on the controls you’re going to use, and how you intend to use them, there can be very little learning curve.
    The data manipulation controls (xtragrid, xtrascheduler, xtracharts, etc.) are extremely easy to use when binding to a database. Less so when binding to persistent objects. Their XPO, oddly enough, isn’t as easy/intuitive as it could or should be when databinding though also not incredibly hard.
    As Francis said, the response time on tickets, and the (usual) clarity and detail of the replies – they often include small projects showing what you’re supposed to do, or will alter your project that you submit with a ticket – is second to none imo.
    Now What I feel is if you are interested in having some complex functionality with lot of tedious logic then Devexpress is good for you! Or if you want to keep the things simple with decent functionality then Infragistics is good for you.
    I migrated from Infragistics to DevExpress. Will never go back to Infragistics as their objects are much heavier and performance is not too great. Documentation is terrible and their examples are very juevenile. Infragistics data grid inline editing (Excel like) is a nice feature which is not available in DevExpress. Other than that, data grid, master, detail setup, data grid dropdown list declaration and other feature are much more streamlined in DevExpress.
    I have been using Telerik RAD Controls since several years. I am very satisfied with the ASP.NET Ajax and WinForms controls. I have not used DevExpress or Infragistics controls before but I had a look at both when I took the decision to use Telerik.
    This is probably too late, but as I found this post while asking the same question I thought I would add my comment with respect to Telerik. I have previously used Infragistics, which I found OK, but I thought the performance wasn’t great. Recently I worked a contract with a company who were using Telerik for Winforms and what we discovered was that there were a number of bugs in their controls. There support was great and they were quick to respond to questions or comments, but unfortunately most of the time when we raised a question on why something wasn’t working, the answer was that it was a bug in their control. also their documentation states explicitly that their controls are not intended to be inherited, so while building your own custom control off the top of their control seems to work in most cases, it isn’t recommended.
    So, once again, I’m publishing an article about a custom painted Winforms control. I guess I ought to change my profile name to “Control Freak”… But what the heck: I love programming custom controls! Nothing to do about that.
    This time, I needed a ToggleSwitch or ToggleButton – something that can show a binary On/Off Checked/Unchecked state in a more interesting way than the standard checkbox. As usual, I started checking out the existing controls, because who wants to spend a lot of time reinventing something that has already been invented??? The thing that normally happens to me also happened this time: I found existing controls that could have been so great, but was leaving me wanting in some way. The best I could find (and very good looking too at that) is this one by IKalai (here on Code Project of course). But I had some problems with Ikalai’s control. The most important one was that it doesn’t allow you to change the size of the control as you want, and I couldn’t make it the size I needed for my application… 🙁 I really don’t understand why he has chosen to impose such a strange limitation on his control!
    So I did what I so often do: I started rolling my own control. And as usual, I went completely overboard and made it much more advanced than I really needed. Instead of merely doing a control that looked as I wanted and behaved as I wanted, I was inspired by the above two articles to make a control that could be made to look in a lot of different ways. In the end, I wound up with TEN different styles plus the possibility to customize those styles further – AND create own renderers to add even more styles if one should feel the need to do that.
    In the end – after finishing the control – I got a completely different idea. So I’m not even sure I’m going to use my ToggleSwitch in the application I created it for. But here it is, nevertheless, for the benefit of y’all to use.
    You can customize the control pretty much as you like. A text or image can be inserted in each side of the control (if the selected renderer supports it). You can only have either text OR image. If you have set the image property, it will take precedence and the text property will not be used..     How does one Blaze the Chrome, you ask? The simple answer is destroying evil robots, but Blazing Chrome is more of a mindset than an action. The whole game reeks of baditude from the bleak use of colours to the thumping mega-drive-esque baseline that hits any note it wants.
    The sound in this game is another highlight, with some nice tunes to accompany the crunchy 16 bit explosions. My favourite tracks are the thumping Mission Select Theme, Mission 4 with its wild synth, and the End Credits (spoiler) song which captures the spirit of the 80s with a banging pop song out of nowhere, just to remind you what humanity is capable of. After finding it on Youtube, it seems like this song was already released in 2011 and overlooked, but maybe this game will give it some new life.
    Developer JoyMasher may be fairly new on the scene, but they are already proving themselves to be masters of the 16-bit arcade aesthetic that many people grew up on and loved, one way or another. Their most recent foray into game development is the vastly enjoyable, albeit almost soul crushingly hard, Contra-inspired game, Blazing Chrome. Harking back to the quarter destroying run and gun, single death side scrolling shooters such as the aforementioned Contra and contemporaries such as Metal Slug and others, Blazing Chrome offers players a sci-fi, metal apocalypse with loads of unlockables and cool characters that will put you to the test, especially at the harder difficulties. Read on to find out why!
    Let me just be up front about something here right at the start: I absolutely stink at these types of games, despite my love for them. While I have enjoyed my forays in to Metal Slug in the past, I either had to take out a small loan to finish it (which I never did in the arcades), or I had to abuse continues like no ones business when it came to the home console versions.
    Games such as those, or in the case of this review, Blazing Chrome, have always put my skills to the test and I have always come up lacking. I guess I just get way too into the game and leap before I look.
    So while I, personally, found Blazing Chrome to be on the harder side of things, even on the lower difficulties, the time I spent running and gunning was immensely fun. Each time I finally defeated one of the huge, and usually grotesque, bosses, I got a sense of accomplishment, which is honestly fairly rare in todays gaming field.
    Blazing Chrome is a fairly simple game all things told. You move from left to right and mow down hordes of enemies as they appear from all sides of the screen. Luckily, you are given several weapon options other than the basic machine gun to help you on your trek to free the human race from the machines enslaving us.
    Beyond the main gun, you can obtain a chargeable laser weapon, a grenade launcher and an energy whip style weapon. Each of which is lost should you die while using said weapon, but the others remain for you to use if you have them available.
    In order to further help you on your endeavors, you will also be able to use various mech suits and vehicles in the various stages, expanding on the basic run and gun mechanics the genre is so well known for.
    Mechanically, Blazing Chrome is an extremely solid run and gun style game. Like I said earlier, when I died, I knew it was usually my fault. Most of the bosses are satisfyingly difficult with a few having mechanics where, if you want an easier time defeating them, you will need to think about the order in which you destroy their various parts.
    I will say, because of my own lack of skill in these style of games, I did find many of the bosses to be almost unfair in a bullet hell-esque sense. But again, players with more skill or who enjoy these style of games will find Blazing Chrome to be satisfying in the difficulty that it offers up and the very tight mechanics presented.
    There are a few modes to be unlocked once the game itself is completed as well as two extra, melee style heroes to unlock, just in case you really hated life and wanted to up close and personal with the different enemies that already kill you in one hit or if they touch you.
    Mankind has been enslaved by robotic masters and you are helping a renegade freedom fighter force who are trying to free the remaining humans. There you have it. But like I said, the story is mostly there for you to have a reason to kill and destroy the biomechanical baddies out for blood.
    Visually, Blazing Chrome is everything we loved about the 16-bit era of gaming. Ignoring the recent flood of bad indie games who try to emulate pixel art and do it badly, JoyMasher shows that they actually understand what made those games of yesteryear so much fun and so beloved.
    I will say that I do somewhat wish that the main characters had even more details in their character designs, as the promo art for the game is fantastic. But that is an overall minor complaint all things considered, as the characters are diverse in their designs as are the enemies.
    And the bosses for each stage are unique, huge, and grotesque. You never have to guess at where their weak point is or what you have to do in order to take them down. The designs themselves make the fights intuitive.
    As far as the sound goes, once again JoyMasher shows just how much this was a labor of love for classic arcade run and gun games. The music and the voices sound as if they were ripped right from that bygone era of gaming. The music is just the right amount of rock and upbeat melodies that drive you forward and amp up the adrenaline during each of the stages.
    Blazing Chrome is very much a love letter and homage to the older generation of games that defined a generation and destroyed many a weekly allowance. The game offers up a fast paced experience that is sure to delight players looking for a game that will test their reflexes without draining their wallet.
    For those who may not be as well versed as others with these types of games, such as yours truly, Blazing Chrome is still probably worth a shot as it is a fun romp, even though it seems much more difficult than it needs to be, even at lower difficulties. Blazing Chrome is a short, blazing run and gun experience well worth the lower price tag that accompanies it.

We spend a lot of time configuring smart forms etc. only for less experience users to click the classic option (the current default) and have none of the automatic calculations, rules, etc. be enabled. There is probably a use case for the opposite as well, where you want an older web map that was designed to be used in Classic to only be used that way.
    Perhaps this would be less of a problem for me if the default was the new map viewer, but I imagine other users want “Classic” to remain the default for now, so I think it would be best to give the map owner some avenue to enforce a user to interact with a map in the environment it was designed for.
    Each map that is authored “remembers” whether it has been authored in Map Viewer Classic vs. Map Viewer. You can flip and save between the two, but obviously this isn’t entirely transparent since Map Viewer supports many things that Classic does not.
    For clarification, that warning” is only given when the default for the organization is set to Map Viewer? We have authored plenty of maps in the new Map Viewer but I have not seen that warning when opening them in Classic.
    I would love to fully embrace map viewer, but as non-admin in a very large organization that will likely be semi-resistant to sunsetting classic that is not an option under my control, so I was looking for other options.
    I think just changing the whole of the org to default to the new map viewer still does not really address the issue, since there might be legacy maps we would want to leave as defaulting to open in classic still. Being able to do it on a map-by-map basis gives situational flexibility to not have to follow the org default where that is not what would be the best specific user experience for a product.

    Whenever I insert a Lucidchart diagram into a Confluence page it seems to insist on using the rich viewer. While the ability to zoom and pan might occasionally be useful usually I just want to see the chart. But the rich viewer initially displays the chart properly framed and then suddenly shrinks it tiny or does something else wacky. Also when I use the scroll wheel to scroll down a Confluence page and the page scrolls to a point where my cursor happens to be in a Lucidchart graphic then the rich viewer takes over my scroll wheel and starts zooming the graphic instead of continuing to scroll. Both of these are very annoying and make it really hard just to look at my page with a Lucidchart in it. I’m tempted to take a screen shot of the chart and replace the chart with that just to keep it from being so squirrelly.
    Hi Randy thanks for posting! My apologies for any difficulty– when hovering over the frame scrolling/zooming mouse functions will all affect the view of the diagram. What you could do is disable the rich viewer (go into edit mode of the Confluence page select the diagram select the “properties” button from the menu then toggle the rich viewer to “off” and select “save”) and that will make it so the diagram isn’t affected by scrolling. However doing so will disable the auto-update functionality. You would have to select the refresh button in order to update the diagram if any changes were made on the Lucidchart side. This Help Center article has more details on the rich viewer vs simple viewer (when the rich viewer is disabled) if you’d like more information.
    Thanks for the response. Yes I see that I can disable the rich viewer if I’m willing to give up auto-updates. I just submitted a request according to your suggestion that these two be allowed to be chosen independently.
    Are there any updates to the Confluence integration planned? The Autosize feature produces erratic results and defining fixed heights and widths for an embedded graphic is a clear no go if one doesn’t know anything about the screen real estate of users (and one shouldn’t have to make quirky assumptions).

    Thanks for the speedy reply Abigail. I was aware of the two pages and have already tried a variety of page setting combinations. Unfortunately to no avail. While my wishlist for new Lucid functionality is not empty with regards to Confluence integration I merely desire predictable and stable behaviour. Which is why I’m interested to learn about your roadmap in this area.
    I’ve heard back from our development team on this and while we do not have the functionality you’ve described currently on the roadmap we’d be very interested in understanding exactly what you mean by ‘erratic results.’ Would you mind submitting a support ticket detailing this behavior so we can assist you further?
    Erratic results… I’m surprised you’ve gotten anything that could be described any other way. I’ve tested a bunch of different things to try to narrow down exactly what’s happening. Note that I did raise a bug report earlier but found this community thread and the results below afterwards and there doesn’t seem to be any way for me to access my former bug report but perhaps this information will be useful to others in at least understanding what’s going on and a possible but annoying workaround.
    The first problem seems to be related to how the plugin sets the dimensions of the lucidchart-simpleviewer-inner-viewer DIV. The width of this seems to be fixed based on the size of the usable space when the page loaded and the height seems to be scaled to match the aspect ratio of the generated image even if this is ludicrous. For example I created a simple diagram with a single bog-standard Process box from the flow chart shape set and nothing else. I embedded this on the page as a LucidChart diagram using the simple viewer auto (original) size left aligned. The page was loaded in Google Chrome. The intrinsic size of the rendered image is 480 x 400 pixels. There’s more margin around it than I’d like but it’s not terrible. The rendered size on the page is 327 x 273 pixels which is also a reasonable size for the space and content. The lucidchart-simpleviewer-inner-viewer DIV however is 1518 pixels wide and 1167.69px high giving this small process box sitting up in the top left corner of a viewport that extends the width of the screen and scrolls off the bottom of the screen. Surely the height shouldn’t need to be any more than the height of the image! This is when the window is maximized. When I break it out into a smaller non-maximal window and reload the page the intrinsic and rendered image dimensions don’t change but the dimensions of that DIV change to 662 x 509.231 pixels which roughly matches the width of the available space in the new window but is still far larger than makes sense. I’d also note that when you resize the window it does resize that DIV to a reasonable size for the generated image so it seems that somewhat sane sizing of the diagram viewport is possible and works on page resize but not on page load. This does give rise to a workaround although it’s somewhat annoying. Any kind of resize event after page load will probably make your simpleviewer LucidChart objects sanely sized. For example restore and then maximize the browser window. It works but it’s not exactly the kind of thing you want to tell your users to do to make their documents look sane.
    Additionally I think this is probably only 1 of 3 issues related to that particular bug report. There is still the issue of uneven and unwanted whitespace and clipping around a diagram and no stray objects that seem to explain it.
    Finally there’s the issue of “auto” sizing. It doesn’t seem to auto-size anything. What I would intuitively expect of an auto-size function is to automatically size the diagram based on the available space but what it seems to do is just do some static calculation based on the possible size of the diagram. That said the whitespace and clipping issues I’ve experienced on a number of diagrams suggest that it may not be doing this reliably in the first place so… In any case this seems like it would have been an obvious must-have feature but apparently not.
    On the issue of whitespace that single Process box that renders as a 480×400 pixel image there is 80 pixels of whitespace at top bottom left and right. This is 33% of the width and 40% of the height is whitespace. That seems excessive and there seems to be no way to control it. I thought maybe reducing page margins might affect this but no. On other more complex and much larger diagrams like the one referenced in my bug report I get 408 pixels of whitespace on the left 80 pixels of whitespace on top bottom and right and the viewport clips both the right and bottom of the diagram. This is on a rendered image with an intrinsic size of 4232 x 2716 pixels. This seems to suggest that it’s trying to generate a flat 80 pixel border on everything regardless of size but not clear reason why the extra border on some diagrams.
